During June and July, 2010, the Miami Beach Bar Association partnered with Angel Care Management, Florida Senior Medicare Patrol, The City of Miami Beach and The City of Miami Beach Police Department in conducting seminars concerning financial/money management, how to increase benefits, prepare advance directives and how to prevent Medicare and Postal Fraud at several Miami Beach Housing Authority's apartment buildings. The programs funded through grants from the City of Miami Beach and Prime Time Seniors  were organized by our associate member Jacqueline Hertz who is also a founder of Prime Time Seniors. Judith Frankel of the Miami Beach Bar Association  provided information on advance directives and Sandra Colon Ferrer of Florida Senior Medicare Patrol spoke on methods to prevent healthcare fraud. Marcela Rubio from the City of Miami Beach spoke on discount food programs available through the City of Miami Beach. The grant included funding for refreshments and live entertainment. Additional venues are being scheduled to take the program to North Beach and Treasure Island centers.
